Hi Matt, can you tell us about yourself?
Matt Rieck is the author of the new book “The Employee Retention Bible” and the Chief Human Resources Officer for Inszone Insurance in Anaheim California.
Matt has been leading People Operations for over 25 years and is a huge champion of companies’ creating a great culture and retaining their top talent.
Matt is a Keynote Speaker nationwide focusing on events where he can make an impact by talking to People Leaders about engaging their workforce to get buy-in and remove unnecessary turnover.
What will you be speaking about at our event?
My Keynote will focus on How to Create a Winning Culture. This is the same speech I have submitted for consideration to TEDx, and covers employee retention, succession planning, all company meetings, and how to structure employee appreciation programs.
What is the main takeaway you hope attendees will take from your presentation?
The key takeaway for Chief People Officers for this presentation will be that every company can have Employee Appreciation Programs in place that not only help retain their most talented team members but also brand their companies in the market as Great Places to Work.
This branding helps with recruiting, and retention, and shows the market that they are an employer of choice.

Who is your ideal attendee for this event?
The ideal attendee is Chief People Officers who will have the ability to directly affect change in their organizations.
Having decision-making authority will allow them to implement the programs that I will be introducing to immediately affect change within their organizations.
What are you looking forward to the most about the event?
I always look forward to getting to meet, connect with, and learn from other leaders who are Head of People Operations at companies.
None of us is ever done learning, and if I can take just one or two great ideas back to my organization, then that event is always worth attending.
Can you provide a brief teaser of what attendees can expect from your presentation?
“Right now, companies are spending millions of dollars every year to fight employer turnover and retain their best employees.
In today’s keynote address, Matt Rieck will provide a no-nonsense step-by-step approach to implementing an Employee Appreciation Program that will curb turnover, engage teams, give top performers direction, and brand your company as an employer of choice!"
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Relationships are everything in business. If you have formed a good connection with someone, you can get anything done, and you can fix anything.
If you don’t have a good connection or relationship with someone, it will be difficult to get anything done and especially difficult to fix any problems.

What advice would you give to young professionals starting out?
Consistently spend time building your network. Companies are sold, close, and sometimes have to lay off team members or merge with other companies. Your focus should always be on the field that you work in and not just your company.
Grow your name on LinkedIn by connecting with key players in your specialty, attend webinars, and seminars, and don’t be afraid to volunteer to speak. None of us are ever really done learning, so always make an effort to surround yourself with peers who are at or above the level you are at in your career.
